Experience St. Augustine’s National Monument

The oldest masonry fort in the continental United States

Castillo de San Marcos National Monument  1 S. Castillo Dr. (west lawn)

Come experience nearly 350 years of history at the oldest masonry fort in the continental United States. Built on land that was once home to the Timucua, the Castillo saw generations of soldiers from Spain, Great Britain, and the United States set down roots and protect the people of St. Augustine. Today, Castillo de San Marcos’ park rangers need your help in preserving this important place and its many stories for generations to come.

Saturday, May 13 – Interactive activities for families – 10:00am – 4:00pm

Join Park Rangers and volunteers inside the fort to get a behind-the-scenes look at Castillo de San Marco’s museum collection. Rarely seen artifacts from the fort’s 350 years will be on display for visitors to explore and reenactors will help bring the object’s stories to life. Visitors can also attend a historic weapons demonstration at 10:30am, 11:30am, 1:30pm, 2:30pm, and 3:30pm.
