The Best View in Town of the Nation’s Oldest Port

Please join us at the St. Augustine Lighthouse and Maritime Museum for the      2024 St. Augustine History Festival. Our theme this year is:

The Influence of Minorcan Culture

Saturday, May 11:

12:00pm – 2:00pm:

Mike Usina, a renowned shrimp boat captain with family ties to the waters of northeast Florida dating back to 1768, will demonstrate the art of Minorcan net making.

Marisella Viega, author of Famous Florida Recipes, will have a book signing and chat about Minorcan recipes in her cookbook. Your family will thank you for buying this recipe book!

Our Education Manager will have crafts for families to practice natural fiber weaving – keep your kids occupied for hours in front of something other than the little screen.

2:00pm – 3:00pm: Jay Smith will provide a discussion on Minorcan Keepers of the St. Augustine Lighthouse. If you’ve never had the opportunity to hear Jay speak, you won’t want to miss it!

Please note that a General Admission charge is required to access our History Festival programming, but there will have a unique discount code that we will be posting shortly on this website. Anyone who who purchases tickets for regular admission online for May 11, 2024, will receive a 15 % discount. Your online purchase will not only gain you a discount on your overall admission price, but you will have access to all of our myriad of programs, including the 219-step climb to the observation deck of  our lighthouse.

Check back with us on this site between now and the beginning of the St. Augustine History Festival for your discount code.
