Tours of Historic Pinehurst and San Sabastian Cemeteries will be on

Saturday, May 10, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Pinehurst and San Sebastian cemeteries in West Augustine are two of Florida’s oldest African-American cemeteries, dating back over one hundred years. The oldest known grave, according to the Florida Public Archaeology Network, is dated 1879. Laid to rest in the cemeteries are many St. Augustine area locals, including individuals who were born into slavery, members of the Order of Odd Fellows, Union soldiers, and veterans of both World War I and II.
