Professional archaeologists and volunteers at the Governor’s House Museum and Cultural Center will be sorting and discussing archaeological materials discovered at the Fountain of Youth Park Site on the north side of town. This site was the location of a Timucuan Indian village as well as the original Spanish settlement in Saint Augustine dating to 1565-66. In addition, a variety of Native American and early Spanish Colonial artifacts will be on display alongside the sorting, as well as books and information about Florida Indigenous people and life in the Spanish Colonial period.
