- The St. Photios Shrine at the Avero House will show the award-winning documentary “The Commemoration of Greek Landing Day,” playing continuously throughout the History Festival from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Join Shrine Docent, Connie Gaitanis for an inside tour of the first Shrine of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese. Mrs. Gaitanis offers and inside perspective of the 55-year history having been involved since the Shrine was purchased in 1965.
Her parents of blessed memory, Olga and George Fotiou, are among the ten founders of the Shrine. 1:00 p.m. daily.

Special Event: Welcome to the Avero House!
Wednesday May 10th at 3:00 p.m. in the Courtyard of St. Photios National Shrine. Executive Director, Polly Hillier, will share the steps by which Shrine Architect, Ted Pappas, FAIA, received the commission to restore to exact specification this Colonial Spanish home and create a National Shrine with a Byzantine Chapel. A very special guest will join us that day, Mrs. Antonia Avero. Antonia will share what life is like on the street for her 18th century extended family. Light refreshments will be served.
